Wild fennel for sale in a 14 cm pot, also known as "field fennel" or "wild fennel", is an aromatic biennial or perennial plant that grows spontaneously in many regions of the world. Wild fennel is an aromatic plant that can reach a height of approximately 30-150 centimeters. It has an erect, grooved and branched stem with finely segmented leaves. The leaves of wild fennel are pinnate in shape and are dark green in color. They are finely divided into thread-like segments, giving them a feathery appearance. Wild fennel flowers are small and yellow and grow in flat umbels at the top of the stem. They are very attractive to pollinating insects. Wild fennel has a distinctive aroma reminiscent of anise or fennel liqueur. Its leaves and seeds have a similar flavor, which is fresh, slightly sweet and slightly aniseed. All aromatic wild fennel is edible. The leaves can be used to flavor salads, fish dishes and sauces. The seeds can be used as a spice, adding a unique flavor to various dishes, including sausages, breads and salads. The roots are edible and have a flavor similar to fennel but more intense. Wild fennel is known for its digestive properties and is often used to relieve stomach problems, flatulence and indigestion. Its medicinal properties also include antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. This plant grows spontaneously in sunny places, often along roads, in fields and near waterways. It is found in many temperate regions of the world.

Wild fennel can also be grown in home gardens, but it's important to note that it can become invasive in some areas. Harvesting edible parts should be done carefully so as not to damage the mother plant.
